Mr.Jayaram Ramesh meets Women from Gujarat struggling for Livelihood Rights

15 Women and Men representatives of various movements from Gujarat struggling for their rights of Water and Land meet the Minister of Environment and Forest , Mr.Jayaram Ramesh today and discussed the movement working with women. going on in Gujarat for the past 6 days ,where thousands of people are struggling to protect livelihood right and environment, are marching under the Jal Jangal bachao yatra reaching Gandhi Nagar on the 17th of March. This campaign is a part of the nation-wide campaign Jan Satyagraha 2012 towards land and entitlement of the rural poor. The demands of the movement include entilement of the rural poor land and water , which is gradually shifting into the hands of corporate bodies. The group and communities is demanding that no pieces of lands will be handed over or sold at any cost, and that the land and water should belong to the masses. Mr. Ramesh assured the group towards taking concrete steps in the direction and look at the issues with utmost focus. Mr. Ramesh said that the environemntal impacts have to be looked into to ensure that natural resources are sustained and remain with the people of Gujarat.
